Boston “Must Visit” Places

Faneuil Marketplace - Boston, MA

Boston Tea Party Ship Museum - Boston, MABoston is what you might call a hot bed of history and it is certainly packed with exhibits relating to the founding of our country. The Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum is new in town and particularly exciting for children of all ages, because it is situated aboard a floating ship. You won’t just learn about history, you will live it, as you throw bales of “tea” into the water and cast your vote for revolution. You can even enjoy a spot of afternoon tea, served by waitresses clad in period costume, at Abigail’s Tea Room.

JFK Presidential Library - Boston, MATo relive a more recent period of America’s past, spend a few hours at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum, stunningly designed by I. M. Pei. View artifacts and photos from the political and personal life of this charismatic president, who was tragically assassinated in 1963. Experience some of the hot topics from his brief term as Commander in Chief — such as the Cuban Missile Crisis and the struggle for civil rights — through interactive exhibits.

The Larz Anderson Auto Museum - Boston, MA

For a change of pace, head over to a rather offbeat display, the Larz Anderson Auto Museum, America’s oldest collection of automobiles. It’s located in Brookline, a short 10 minute drive from Boston proper, in a luxurious carriage house built by Mr. Anderson himself and surrounded by acres of beautiful parkland.

Back in Boston check out Faneuil Hall, a market place and meeting place for close to 300 years. It now offers a fine selection of shopping and eateries, as well as a meeting hall and artillery museum.

Don’t forget that Boston is a popular destination. Boston has so much to see and do that you’ll appreciate staying in a comfortable hotel with easy access to everything. The nicer and lower priced Boston hotels tend to fill up fast in any season, though, so it’s a good idea to reserve in advance.
